The purpose of this Guide is to help educate you on the different options you have when choosing to update your existing cabinets.

It also provides a framework for you to compare to your own kitchen and how these options may affect your decisions.

The following kitchen pricing scenarios are based on one simple kitchen layout (see next page.)

The next four sections will instruct you on the different considerations and options in the pricing examples.

The layout used in the following pricing examples is a 10x10 "L" shaped kitchen with a 72 inch island (photo to left.)

It includes:

The Door Styles

Door style and the materials they are made of affect the price.

We've broken our pricing down into common door styles and finishes, and also include painting the existing cabinets.

Styles Included:

  • Shaker Painted and Stained
  • Traditional Painted and Stained

The Options

Within each Installation Method and/or Door Options there will be a pricing range from Basic to Full Trim Package.

Basic Pricing* is the minimum update required in that category.

Full Trim Packages* are fully updated, "showcase" kitchens.  
In addition to the Basic, they include:

  • Crown Molding
  • 4 Decorative Cabinet End Panels
  • Decorative Island Treatment
  • Light Rail Molding

The Methods

The pricing options are broken down into 4 Installation methods.  Not all methods apply to every door option.

Installation Methods Include:

  • New Doors + Hand Paint Cabinet Face Frames  (Painted & Only)
  • New Doors and Veneer Cabinet Face Frames - (Traditional Cabinet Refacing)
  • Replace All Upper Cabinets with 42" Cabinets & Reface All Lower Floor Cabinets (Partial Remodel)

Painted Shaker Doors

The most popular trend today is a painted shaker door.  There are many subtle variations of this style with painted maple frame and MDF panel selected for this pricing.

  • Whites and Grays are trending
  • Many other colors available
  • Transitional, Timeless Look

Painted Traditional Doors

Traditional doors have a bit more detail in them than Shaker doors, thus have a slightly higher cost to produce.  The style quoted is the Painted, Presidential Mitered, Raised Panel door.

  • Many paint colors available.
  • Prices can vary across this category due to the diverse styles available.

Stained Shaker Doors

Same styles available as the Painted Shaker Door, but in stained wood.  Pricing based on Cherry wood stained Chestnut.
